The Unhealthiest Things You Can Drink!

Nutrition is the main thing to worry about if you want to achieve your fitness goals. No matter how hard you work out, if you’re not eating and drinking healthily, then all your work is for nothing.

There’s every chance you’re eating well, but what are your drinking habits like? Below, I’ve listed the four unhealthiest things you can drink. Take a look at them and see if you’ve been sipping on some unhealthy beverages this whole time.

Any type of soda is bad for you as it contains lots of sugar and plenty of empty calories. In short, drinking soda every day will absolutely ruin your teeth, cause you to have way too much sugar in your system, and make you put on weight. If you want to stay healthy, then steer clear of soda from now on!

Energy Drinks

You may think that having an energy drink before going to the gym is a great way to jumpstart your workouts. On the contrary, the reason they give you so much energy is also the reason they’re so unhealthy. These drinks are packed to the brim full of sugar and caffeine. You already know how bad sugar is for you, but caffeine is arguably worse. Too much caffeine can cause your heart rate to rise to worrying heights, and it also leads to headaches and addictive tendencies. Getting some in a cup of coffee is fine as that’s in moderation. But, energy drinks have dangerous levels of it, which is why some countries now refuse to sell them to anyone under 16.

Any kind of alcohol is bad for you, but some are much worse than others. People like spirits are great as they contain hardly any calories, but they’ll get you drunk a lot faster, and you usually mix them with other things that are highly calorific. Beer is probably the worst as it’s full of calories that do nothing for you but make you fat. Along with the physical health problems caused by alcohol, it also has mental health consequences too. Speak to any DUI lawyer, and they’ll tell you they’ve had so many clients with totally clean backgrounds that got caught drinking and driving. How does this happen? Because alcohol alters your brain and makes you do things without thinking. As far as unhealthy drinks go, it’s probably the worst!

Protein Shakes (Some, Not All!)

What is this blasphemy? Protein shakes? Unhealthy?? It seems like some massive hot take, but the reality is a lot of protein shakes are terribly unhealthy. I’m mainly talking about the pre-made ones that you can buy from shops and just drink on the go. These ones usually come full of calories, loaded with sugar, and packed full of loads of other unnatural ingredients that you don’t need. Be careful when buying protein powders as well because some companies sell ones that are equally as bad. If you need protein shakes, then look for a protein powder with natural ingredients, low sugar, and low calories.

Often, if you eat well and exercise regularly – but still don’t see results – then it’s down to your drinking habits. Avoid drinking these unhealthy drinks if you want to stay fit and healthy.
