I am constantly arguing with myself on whether I want to be completely independent and spend my own money, or accept the allowance my father gives me. I am lucky enough to have parents that support me and pay for my college tuition as well as my basic necessities. However, I have always been the one who is saving spare change and looking for odd jobs to pick up. I just love the satisfaction that comes out of my small amount of finical independence.
Unfortunately, being a full time student makes it difficult to continue with my free lance business. This leaves me with a need to shop and a bank account that is quickly depleting. After a few months of college, I noticed a trend amongst my friends- there is always that group of people searching for class notes. I always thought selling my class notes would be an excellent way to make some pocket change. High Point University pays students to be note takers for certain classes. Unfortunately, that position is hard to come by.
When Luvo Learn reached out to me, my inner entrepreneur beamed with excitement! A company that allows students to sell their class notes and study materials is exactly what I have been searching for.
Luvo Learn is essentially an online marketplace that helps students improve both academically and financially. The process for uploading your study materials such as notes, flash cards and exams guides is pretty simple and can be done within a matter of seconds. Luvo Learn also offers a platform for students to give and receive online tutoring in one-on-one or group sessions. And yes, you can get paid to become a tutor!
After doing a bit of digging around of their website, I learned that students can make anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars! The top student has made $15,779.44 to date. And he graduated in 2014. And there are other amazing success stories on Luvo’s website!
The way you make money is pretty simple. Sellers of uploaded content receive 70% of each sale made during that pay period. Tutors get paid based on the amount of sessions that they held. If you are willing to put in more hours, you will end up getting a higher percentage of your sales. Pay day is every Friday at 5 pm EST, just in time for the weekend! Being the go-getter I am, I signed up for Luvo Learn! Taking notes is so simple and I am excited to generate income for something I already do! Especially with the Holiday season right around the corner- I am in need of a new cash flow!
