I remember when I was quoted in a magazine in sixth grade. I carried the issue around and showed all of my teachers how I, Mandy, had a little blurb about learning in a magazine for teachers. I felt completely powerful; it was def a major confidence booster! That is the only thing I vividly remember from sixth grade. My parents even had the article put on a plaque.
Now, it’s obvious that I have thankfully changed a lot since sixth grade. However, my desire to be “famous” has stayed the same. Lily, TP‘s co-founder, emailed me a link to my feature in The Prospect Guide during my Religion class. I immediately bursted into tears and I’ve kind of been at a loss for words since I first read the article. In a way, I feel a tad bit famous. I guess this feature is proof that hard work really does pay off and never goes unnoticed.
I am oh so thankful that The Prospect gave me this opportunity to be featured in their Student Spotlight!
Huge thank you to Olivia Cunningham for writing this fabulous piece and Lily Herman for just being Lily.
