I don’t want to say that I am the queen of last minute gift giving, but I’m pretty high up on the ranking. Especially during the holidays, I am always moving around from state to state and house to house. Moving = losing track of gifts. It just happens.
If you suffer from procrastinating or forgot to buy a gift for someone (hey, it happens), you’re in luck! I have put together a list of last minute holiday gifts that are sure to dazzle!
Goodie Girl Cookies: They launched festive holiday boxes that can be found at most every grocery store (click here to see a list of stores near you). My family is hooked on these gluten free cookies! Honestly, you cannot tell that they are gluten free. A win-win for every sweet tooth holder and gluten free girl out there. (Want more Goodie Girl? Read here, here, here)
Gloves and Hand Warmers: This probably sounds like a super odd gift, and it kind of is. But if you’re shopping for a college student who is walking across campus in the snow, they will thank you. Especially for the hand warmers. Be a hero and purchase a pack of gloves: one for their backpack, one for their car and one to have on them at all times.
Specialty drinks: Does your gift receiver love coffee or tea? If they own a Keurig, pick out fun K-Cups. Favored coffee grounds and unique teas make a thoughtful last minute gift. Include a mug or travel cup, fancy sugars and syrups and a gift card to their favorite coffee shop to make the gift feel complete!
Coloring Book and Crayons: Who doesn’t love to color? Michael’s Arts and Crafts tends to have the best selection of coloring books (they even have floor sized ones!). If you don’t have access to a Michael’s, Walmart or Target will do!
Spotify Premium Membership: I have never been a big music listener, truthfully I enjoy silence. However, when someone pointed out that Starbucks has their own Spotify playlists that they play throughout the store, I was hooked. Smooth, up beat jazz? Check. All of your Christmas favorites? Check. Cool, coffee house vibes? Check. For $10 a month ($5 if you use a student email), it is the gift the gift that keeps on giving. Better yet, pair it with a new set of headphones.
Netflix Subscription: Give the gift that is guaranteed to be appreciated. The only thing better than winter break is binge watching your favorite shows in bed.
Magazine Subscription: I am a HUGE magazine junkie. I prefer to read on my iPad and purchase my magazines through Texture.com, which allows you to have unlimited access to every national magazine. They’re currently running a special and you will get 3 months for $10!
Adobe Cloud Subscription: An ideal gift for a communication/ graphic design major. With a student discount (just ask for their student email), a monthly subscription to the Adobe Cloud runs about $20 a month. This is the software used by most professionals (and what Paxton used to create my logo and website). Adobe Premiere makes super cute videos, Audio can be used to tune audio and create podcasts, Photoshop and Indesign allow you to create adorable graphics and logos.
Happy last minute shopping!
