I Just Couldn’t Wait Until Summer For Sun-Kissed Hair!

One of my favorite parts about the summer time is having sun-kissed hair. We had a long long long winter this year, and when I received  L’Oréal Paris Summer Lighten Gelée from Seventeen Magazine, I had a major case of Spring Fever.  Everyone kept telling that if I went tanning, I would see my natural highlights come out. Since my mother had a short battle with skin cancer (she is healthy now!), I have been hesitant to hit the tanning bed. I found the perfect (and healthy) solution to this issue when Seventeen Magazine sent me L’Oréal Paris Summer Lighten Gelée.
I was concerned that the product would dye my skin and clothing, so I took the necessary precautions the first time I used the product. By some miracle, the gelée doesn’t stain. I know- it’s amazing! The product is also ammonia free, but it is not intended for dark or color treated hair.

I used L’Oréal Paris Summer Lighten Gelée once week for four weeks and am in LOVE with the results. The first two weeks I attempted to dye my hair in an ombre style. To do so, I sectioned off my hair in layers to ensure the results would look as natural as possible. To create the perfect ombre, I started by applying a thick layer of the gelée at the ends and lightly spread the extra product up to right below my ear. My top layer of hair ends right above my ears, so I did not put any of the product on top.  I set-in the gelée with my blowdryer, but spending the day in the sun will do the same!
The last two weeks I decided to coat a few strands of my top layer in the gelée. I took the product right up to my roots and added a few extra streaks around my face.
What do you think of the results?!
Enjoy the sunshine and keep things covered up!

A special thanks to Seventeen Magazine and L’Oréal Paris for sponsoring this post!
As always, the opinions are 100% my own.
