5 Trends You Need To Try In 2017: A Guest Post

So far, 2017 has been a pretty fab year in the fashion world, with people seemingly more open to trying out fresh, unique trends. It does, however, sometimes feel like there are so many looks and just not enough time or money to try them all, right? To help you guys out, here are 5 classy, simple trends that I think you just have to give a try this year.

Gingham really does have a new lease of life this year and is a huge trend – not just for children’s summer dresses, but for you too. Pair your picnic piece with bright block colours – or wear it with creams and whites in the summer to make your look fresh and modern.

Sports Luxe

The infiltration of sportswear and leggings on the runway this year should not be ignored or underestimated. Right now could be the only chance you ever get to wear skinny joggers and men’s T shirts and look on-trend. Please do not let the chance pass you by!

Midi Dresses

I have always loved a midi. Elegant, effortless and flattering, this sophisticated dress will always be a faithful friend. Kind on the hips and the thighs, it’s a key piece for 2017, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Go for floral printed styles to pair with ankle boots or barely there heels depending on the weather.

Big Sleeves

Frilled, fluted, flared or full, whatever you do this year, make sure your sleeves are the focal point of your outfit. They are especially everywhere this spring, so make sure snap up yours up soon.

Floral Footwear

This is one of my fave looks this season, I just cannot get enough of floral footwear. Be it an embroidered ankle boot, a floral slider flip-flop, or some decorative sneakers – flowery feet as going to be everywhere this year. Team with ripped jeans and a frilled sleeve blouse and you’ll be the most on trend girl 2017 has seen!

To sum up the looks for 2017, I would say you need to try and strike a balance between cute/girly and rock chick. Frills and pastel shades are in – but only when teamed with biker jackets and ripped jeans. Don’t be afraid to mix it up and a bit and experiment with textures and styles. You won’t regret it!
